Whether you’re sipping something (hopefully) warm, gliding across “ice,” shopping local, or soaking in holiday music and traditions, here are a few chilly-weather picks to make the most of this magical season.

WILD ARTS FESTIVAL
December 6th - 7th | Wingspan Event Center

Discover nature-inspired art at the Wild Arts Festival! Held at the Wingspan Event Center, this two-day show features over 60 Northwest artists, 25 nature writers, a silent auction, and books, all benefiting the Bird Alliance of Oregon.

MY PEOPLE’S MARKET
December 6th - 7th | Oregon Convention Center

My People’s Market is a two-day winter marketplace spotlighting 150+ BIPOC entrepreneurs, makers, musicians, and food vendors. Live performances, creative goods, and vibrant energy make this one of Portland’s most joyful holiday markets.

MERRY-ACHI CHRISTMAS
December 10th | Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall

Bring the heat to your holiday season with “Merry-Achi Christmas.” A festive concert by Mariachi Sol de México led by José Hernández, with the Oregon Symphony. Expect classic carols, bold mariachi flare, and a joyful celebration of culture.

HERITAGE HOLIDAY
December 13th | Fort Vancouver

Step back in time for a Victorian-style Christmas at Fort Vancouver! This family-friendly event brings 1840s holiday traditions to life. Enjoy candlelit buildings, live caroling, historic craft demos, hot cider, handmade decorations and warm, holiday spirit.

MENORAH LIGHTING
December 14th - 21st | Pioneer Courthouse Square

CCelebrate Hanukkah downtown with Chabad of Oregon’s public menorah lighting at Pioneer Courthouse Square. There’s music, traditional foods, and eight evenings of light and joy! A warm, welcoming community event for all.

OMSI ON ICE
Dec 1st - 31st | OMSI

Glide into winter science magic at OMSI’s indoor synthetic rink, housed right in the museum’s auditorium. Lace up your skates (included in admission!) and enjoy...even if you’re brand new to the ice. It’s a cozy, fun way to celebrate the season.
