Summer isn't done with us yet…and August is here to prove it. The Portland and SW Washington area is buzzing with festivals, food events, and community gatherings that remind us why we love calling this place home. Grab your calendar and get ready, because this month's lineup is a good one.

CLARK COUNTY FAIR
August 7th-16th | Ridgefield, WA

All your favorite summer traditions come together in one place...rides, live entertainment, concerts, rodeo action, monster trucks, delicious fair food, and agricultural exhibits for all ages. This year’s theme is “Blast Off to Fun,” and with headliners like Midland and Collective Soul it’s truly out of this world!

VANPORT JAZZ FESTIVAL
August 7th-8th | University of Portland

One of Portland's most celebrated music events returns, featuring some of the biggest names in jazz alongside food and vendors, Oregon wine and spirits, and an atmosphere that draws visitors from across the country. This year's lineup includes Grammy winner Mýa and acclaimed saxophonist Mindi Abair...don't miss it!

SUMMER FLOWERS AT WOODEN SHOE

August 13th | Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm

Best known for its annual Tulip Festival, Wooden Shoe also puts on a stunning summer show, with 30 acres of sunflowers, cosmos, zinnias, painted daisies, and more in full bloom. It's a relaxed, beautiful day at the farm with plenty of activities for kids too.

BURGER WEEK
August 10th-16th | Multiple Locations

For one glorious week per year, an epic lineup of Portland-area restaurants will be serving up one-of-a-kind, specially crafted burgers for just $10 each - with options for vegans and vegetarians. It’s a great time to try something new!

INDIA FESTIVAL
August 23rd | Pioneer Courthouse Square

A free, vibrant celebration of India's Independence Day, this festival brings live music, dance performances, food, and cultural entertainment to the heart of downtown Portland. Hosted by the India Cultural Association, it's a wonderful opportunity to experience the richness of Indian culture right in our community.

NORTHWEST VEGFEST
August 29th-30th | Wingspan Events Center

This two-day festival is a celebration of plant-based living, featuring free samples, nutrition talks, interactive cooking demos, and more. Whether you're fully plant-based or just plant-curious, it's a fun and delicious way to spend the day!
