Tamar comes from a line of strong women, raised with integrity, pride in her work, resourcefulness, and a skill in making even the most daunting tasks enjoyable. Thanks to parents who founded and run one of the oldest mortgage brokerage companies in San Francisco, Tamar grew up immersed in the process of buying and selling a home, from financing to closing. Tamar got her California real estate license in 2014, and soon discovered how much she loves guiding people through such a big life experience. In 2021, she moved from Los Angeles to Portland, and is now licensed in both California and Oregon. Real estate isn't just her job — it's basically in her blood.
Her ideal adventure for an urban Portland day: Tamar's perfect Portland day starts with coffee and pastries from Little T Bakery in Richmond, then a hop Downtown to browse Powell's Books before the crowds arrive. All that browsing works up an appetite, so it's off to Cafe Olli in the King neighborhood in NE for pizza. Next, a walk with her basset mix Cosmo, catching the views at Mt. Tabor Park (well, she does — he's too short), audiobook queued up, foraging berries along the way. A stop at Portland Nursery in Sunnyside for a few pollinating flowers rounds out the afternoon, closing with dinner and a beer on Stark Street in Montavilla with friends.
Her superpower: Tamar's superpower is bringing positivity, creativity, and dependability to the process of buying or selling a home — turning what can be a stressful home buying or selling experience into something genuinely fun for her clients
Superpower she wishes she had: Tamar wishes she could magically deliver faith to people who are uncertain an emotionally and financially stressful situation will work out well. She's seen the process enough times to know: things that often seem like they won't work out wind up turning out for the best. She just wishes she could hand her clients that certainty upfront.
Favorite moment in real estate: That sweet moment of handing her clients the keys to their front door as new homeowners. It's the payoff after all the stress and anticipation of the process — and watching that relief turn into pure joy never gets old.
Favorite neighborhood, and why? It's so hard to pick one! But Tamar loves Montavilla, at the doorstep of Mt. Tabor. She loves the best of Stark's great shops, restaurants, and cafés in one direction, and Mt. Tabor Park with all its splendid, forest-y glory in the other. Add in the incredible wildlife and the most delicious vanilla cardamom morning roll from Hungry Heart, and this pocket of Portland has so much to offer.
