Marissa grew up in a family of make-things-happen-business-minded-risk-takers who built their wealth from the dirt up by buying real estate, starting businesses, and figuring it all out along the way. She grew up helping to run her family’s businesses – by cleaning rentals and running state fair booths, managing financials and directing marketing and sales. She’s built her life around this approach, diving into new industries with the goal of learning everything possible.
In college, she started a small business focused on consulting and supporting a broad range of businesses. After receiving her degree in Molecular Biology, she managed a science lab, which ultimately led her to Antarctica on a national research grant. When she returned, she flipped a house and then tried her hand at gin distillation, where she was quickly promoted to Distiller and Production Manager.
In other words, Marissa’s been behind the scenes of diverse businesses and industries and knows what it takes to create stability, wealth, and enjoyment whether it’s from the perspective of an institution, a national brand or a niche business with small space needs. This translates into service grounded in compassion, knowledge, and respect. She wants clients to feel supported, well-educated, and to know that she’ll put them in better legal, financial, and business situations.
Real estate also helps Marissa feel connected to her Oregon roots, as she’s a direct descendant of an Oregon Trail pioneer, a long-time mayor of Sandy, OR, and word on the street is that her father’s grandfather was a chef and a bookkeeper for the underground gambling houses ran by the Tong in Portland’s Old Town/Chinatown.
