Starting Tuesday 3rd December, Fast Pitch – an impact investment program – will be conducting their coaching sessions at Urban Nest’s N. Williams location. Area startups seeking expert insight, mentoring and up to $100,000 in investment funding are participating in Portland’s inaugural Fast Pitch program, sponsored by Social Venture Society, a Portland-based forum for individuals interested in social issues, venture capital, social enterprise, or social venture capital. For –profit companies with a positive social impact compete for up to $100,000 in investment funds, while nonprofit companies compete for a package of in-kind counseling and capacity development coaching from Portland high-growth business accelerator, TenX. “The mission of the Social Venture Society is to encourage startup enterprises which produce a positive impact on society,” said Carolynn Duncan, Social Venture Society founder. “Through participation in Fast Pitch, Portland area ventures can earn recognition, connections and substantial investment for their enterprise.” Entrants will receive several months of intensive, hands-on coaching workshops and mentoring from Portland’s top social enterprise and entrepreneurship professionals.
