REAL ESTATE BROKER
Kate is an eastside Portland native and loves being a real homegrown Oregonian. She studied art history and Italian in college and worked in floral artistry and design. After staying at home to be a mom and doing some home remodeling projects, Kate became interested in what was happening in Portland real estate. She loves her career and combines her skills as a good listener with highly detailed analysis based on precise research and an insider’s knowledge of Portland.
Her ideal Portland adventure: Kate would like to start the day with some type of movement class, yoga or barre. Next comes a walk over the Tillicum bridge with her dog and her boys on their skateboards , or a brisk hike on Mt. Tabor with the dog. She’ll then head out for coffee and pastries at St. Honore Bakery followed by a leisurely stroll past her favorite art galleries and maker shops on Division or NE Alberta. And finally, she’ll stop at her local farmers’ market for ingredients for a big meal she’ll prepare to share with friends and neighbors in her backyard.
Her superpower: Excessive attention to detail, the observational powers of a high-powered telescope and eternal optimism.
Superpower she wishes she had: Tapping into the zen in everyday moments, especially in parenting her two sons. Oh and extra sets of arms and eyes!
Favorite moment/s in real estate: There’s nothing better than having clients become friends and friends become clients. People are the most important part of a real estate transaction.
Favorite Portland neighborhood, and why? Ladd’s Addition, because she lives there and it remains a quiet and serene island even while in the heart of the city. The old growth trees provide the perfect shade on long summer afternoons, it’s a walkable family friendly neighborhood and the community rose gardens are lush. Plus it was planned and designed based on the gardens of Versailles which is the coolest thing ever!
