As someone who spent almost 10 years as a classroom teacher before transitioning to real estate, the most rewarding part of the process for Joe is his ability to be an invaluable resource as an educator, listener, fact-finder, and sounding board for his clients as they go through the highest-stakes buying process of their lives. You must work together to make an informed decision because a new home becomes not only the hub of the family's future memories and milestones, but also a financial investment that can lead to true transformational and generational wealth creation down the road.

His ideal adventure for an urban Portland day: It always starts with a cup of coffee on his front porch, a little meditation and, of course, that day's Wordle. Next up is a leisurely walk with the dogs through Laurelhurst Park or Tabor, followed by a slice of pizza at Baby Doll. In the afternoon, maybe pop into Movie Madness for a tour of their world renowned collection of DVD's and VHS tapes, grab a drink at one of the local dive bars, pop into Village Merchants to browse the shelves, or take in some live music at Keys Lounge on Killingsworth. Whether it is walking, biking, eating, drinking or thrifting, Portland just has so much to offer.

His superpower: Joe’s superpower is his ability to enter any room full of strangers and invariably leave with a few new friends.

Superpower he wishes he had: He wishes he had the ability to sleep for 2 hours and awaken fully rested like in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series

Favorite moment/s in real estate: His favorite moment in real estate is when you enter a new listing, do your walk through, and then turn to each other and think, "wow, I think we may have found our new house!" The feeling is absolutely electric. Even though, at that point, the hard work has only just begun, finding a house that is worth that effort is an exhilarating feeling.

Favorite Portland neighborhood, and why? Joe has come to love many different neighborhoods in Portland over the past 17 years, but his favorite is probably Richmond and SE Division. He loves the fantastic walkability and world-class food and drink—from Jacqueline and Broder on Clinton to Kati, Oma’s Hideaway, and Ava Gene’s for dinner. His recommendations also include Little T American Baker, one of the finest bakeries in town, and a slice of pie at Lauretta Jean’s. There’s even a fantastic gelato place right next to Salt & Straw for anyone who can’t decide. Add classic Portland dive bars like Reel M Inn and cutting-edge film and theatre experiences at PAM CUT’s Tomorrow Theater, and his reaction is simple: just wow.
