Beth grew up in the area and is a 4th-generation Portlander, so her love of this city runs deep. Growing up, she and her mom would spend many afternoons after school driving around looking at homes, with her as the designated flyer-grabber as they cruised by. In 2013 she was at a crux in her career while working in the non-profit world and was looking to make a big change and landed an opportunity in real estate. That was 12 years ago and she’s never looked back!
Her ideal adventure for an urban Portland day: Beth's ideal day in the city would start with snagging pastries to go from Sparrow Bakery and an iced coffee from one of the many fabulous shops near her home in St. Johns. She'd then head to Portland Nursery with her husband (and licensed assistant,) Ryan, to pick out a plant or two, and then spend the afternoon tinkering in the garden with their two tiny pups. The day would end with a snack and a cheers at a favorite neighborhood bar with friends (and maybe some karaoke after if the night went that way!)
Her superpower: She sees faces in everything! Houses, door handles, ceilings, you name it -- it's called pareidolia and makes for some funny Instagram posts!
Superpower she wishes she had: Go-go-gadget arms -- nothing worse than being cozied in and then realizing your phone is across the room!
Favorite moment/s in real estate: Favorite (funniest) moment: about a week into working in real estate, she was sent to pick up the "signage" from a listing by another agent. She didn't quite understand the mission and thought she was meant to pull the sign post out of the ground (and boy, did she try!) She wiggled that six-footer out, but then called the agent to say she wasn't sure it would fit in her car. Let's just say there was only uncontrollable laughter on the other line as all they'd meant for her to do was grab the signs from INSIDE the home.
Favorite Portland neighborhood, and why? St. Johns! Beth and her husband bought their first home there six years ago, and love the feeling of living in a small town while having access to everything a big city has to offer. Beth is the Vice President of the St. Johns Boosters Business Association and is very active in volunteering by helping to coordinate community events, advocate for neighborhood improvements and collaborating with other small businesses. You'll often find Beth and Ryan at one of their favorite neighborhood hangs: Leisure Public House, Slim's or Havalina -- clink a glass with them if you do!
