Ash grew up among the cornfields of the Midwest. As the son of a carpenter, he learned early on that hard work is essential. His father taught him how important going the extra mile is, whether it was preparing for a concrete pour or measuring twice before cutting. Those lessons are what Ash builds his foundation and business on today. He moved to Portland more than a decade ago, drawn to the robust and ever-changing music scene, the unique neighborhoods full of venues, great food, and the incredible juxtaposition of the city to the mountains and the ocean. Ash began his real estate journey in 2014 and has spent the last handful of years putting down roots in NE Portland. The journey on the way to helping clients discover what home means, whether he is helping clients envision how to rework a space or maximize a property as an investment, is what he is passionate about.
His perfect Portland day: Ash would start the day with a quick cup of coffee at at Albina Press and a hike in Forest Park, a house showing or two of course, and in the evening taking the dogs to the beach on Sauvie Island, dinner at Lovely’s Fifty Fifty, and a nightcap at Angel Face.
His Superpower: Helping to make the impossible, possible. Whether he is helping a client understand how and when a home purchase could be realistic for them, digging into the strategy of winning a bidding war, or dialing in a listing for maximum return. Ash enjoys taking on all these challenges and making what might feel impossible a reality for his clients.
Superpower he wishes he had: Never needing to sleep. If he didn’t need to sleep he could see so many more houses!
Favorite moment in real estate: Helping clients find the perfect home and watching the transformation that occurs after closing. Whether the transformation is a converting a garage to a band practice space, a basement turned into a ceramic studio empowering a new entrepreneur, a complete down to the studs remodel, or just new exterior paint! Ash loves seeing clients make their home truly theirs.
Favorite Portland neighborhood, and why? Woodlawn. But it’s so hard to choose! Situated on a bluff overlooking the Columbia River, and often providing views of the flat-topped Mt St Helens, the neighborhood provides peaceful respite along with great neighborhood features. From a lunch at P’s & Q’s, to a weekend game of knock-out on the basketball courts at Woodlawn Park, the neighborhood is an ideal spot to enjoy the city of Portland.
