Celebrate the summer solstice in the Scandinavian tradition. Enjoy traditional Nordic food, a beer garden, craft making tutorials for Dalarna Horse lanterns and floral wreaths, as well as the requisite raising of the Maypole or midsommarstång. Scandinavian roots are not required to participate!

June 16th - 17th | Fields Neighborhood Park
The 6th annual Cider Summit Portland features over 150 ciders, including regional favorites and international classics. Food carts will include offerings from World Foods, Cypress Grove Cheese, KRAVE Jerky, and Ryans Juice among others. While you sip you can enjoy live music by Portland artists and a dog lounge, hosted by DoveLewis and Cycle Dog.

June 25th, 11:00 AM | Westmoreland Park
This classic Rose Festival event dates to 1973. Children and adults race and show off their handmade, human powered boats that float only by means of recycled milk cartons and jugs. Creatively constructed watercraft will compete in nine categories, with one earning a place in history upon the coveted Best in Show milk can trophy.

June 29th - 30th, 7:30 PM - 8:45 PM | Washington Park
Choreography XX is a celebration of dance created by women. Last season the Oregon Ballet Theatre launched a national women’s choreography competition. The winners, Gioconda Barbuto, Helen Simoneau, and Nicole Haskins, created three original works which will be performed at Portland’s gorgeous Washington Park Rose Garden Amphitheater. Admission is free. So pack a picnic, and sit back for a delightful summer evening of dance!
