St. Johns Bizarre
May 11th, 7PM : N Lombard & Philadelphia
2013 will mark the St. Johns Bizarre’s seventh year of creating a forum for neighbors and friends to celebrate our community. The event aims to display all that the community has to offer. The Bizarre is a showcase of the unique and eclectic character of North Portland. Included is local street music, street performers, a vendor’s market, sausage, pizza, a Bier Garten, kids art activities, and more!

E.O. Wilson
May 11th, 4PM : Powell’s Books
Powell’s Book hosts Pulizer Prize-Winning biologist and bestselling author Edward O. Wilson (On Human Nature, The Ants, and The Social Conquest of Earth). Wilson will share some scintillating passages from his new book, Letters to a Young Scientist, at the Bagdad Theater.

Pinot & Pups Wine Gala Dinner & Auction
May 17th, 5:30PM : Portland Art Museum
Lap up a lovely libation and enjoy a doggone delicious dinner at this inaugural Guide Dogs for the Blind event combining two of Portland’s favorite things: pinot and pups. Four-legged friends should be on hand to help with the barking at the live auction, and possibly the silent auction as well (remember: panting isn’t barking!). Proceeds go toward costs of training students that are blind with their new guide dogs at GDB’s Oregon campus.

3rd Annual Columbia Gorge Wine & Pear Festival
May 18th & 19th, 11Am – 6PM : Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum
Hood River Rotary announced their annual fundraiser, this two day event will feature the many award winning wineries and vineyards in the Columbia Gorge AVA, including two days of wine tasting, artists from around the Pacific Northwest, fruit pairings from the Pear Bureau, food from the best restaurants in the region, and area musicians. Proceeds from the event will benefit Hood River Rotary’s Scholarship program for local graduating high school students.

Kenton Street Fair

The Kenton Fair is an annual celebration of diverse and engaged communities aimed at promoting local growth and a sustainable future for Historic Kenton. The Kenton Street Fair is an annual event bringing together local PDX family for a day of celebration of community & the history that is all around this growing neighborhood!
